Ryan Popple Death, Cause Of Death – Former CEO of Proterra and venture investor at Kleiner Ryan Popple Proterra has passed away at age 44. G2 Venture Partners, the firm Popple joined in February, announced his death on its website Wednesday. Ryan Popple Cause of death was not made known to the public.
“Ryan embodied the entrepreneurial spirit and devoted his life to creating a better future,” G2VP said in its announcement.
Popple was best known for his work at Proterra, one of the pioneers in developing electric buses for transit agencies and other uses. As a partner at venture firm Kleiner Perkins, he helped lead some early investments in the company, which was founded in 2004. He became CEO of the Burlingame-based company in 2014 and served in that role until March 2020 when he became its executive director.
During his time as its CEO, Proterra’s valuation swelled from around $100 million to more than $1 billion, according to PitchBook Data.
