John Eddowes Death, Cause Of Death –  Founder of Skydive Crosskeys John Eddowes has passed away unexpectedly on December 31, 2021. Our family suffered a great loss on December 31. My cousin John Eddowes passed away. We had the privilege to have the coolest nephew and cousin anyone could have. The top photo is of John and His Auntie Elsie when she did her tandem skydive at Johns skydive club.

The bottom photo has John and His Uncle Jim on the field after Swoop took a skydive into an Eagles game. He was a wonderful guy and a devoted father. When he would fly over our house my parents loved to go out front and wave like 2 crazy people and beam with love and pride. John will be greatly missed by all of us

Saddened to hear of the passing of John Eddowes, founder of Skydive Crosskeys, this past week.
When I started in the sport of skydiving he was a legend and mentor to me. We had a special relationship as a distant uncle was the FAA safety inspector for the dropzone.

He jokingly threatened to ground me when he found out who my uncle was and that I was a 50 jump wonder jumping without a cypress. So many awesome stories from east coast trips to FL dropzones during winter months to drinking in South Jersey dive bars in the pine barrens. But more than a person, he built an amazing dropzone full wonderful people that changed my life.

That dropzone became more of a home than any other place I had at the time. I met my wife there. I met multiple people there who had massive impact on the long term direction of my life. I owe a lot to the Skydive Crosskeys community and while he was by no means perfect, John Eddowes was the reason it was there for me when I needed it most. Too much to say on the topic and at the moment the words elude me.
Thanks John. Blue skies.
PS – you still owe me a Stearman jump, I guess I’ll have to collect at a later date.
