Scott Groover Identified as man killed in a New Year’s Eve attack on Floral Avenue.

Scott Groover Death, Cause Of Death –  Scott Groover age 55 of  Johnson City has been idientified as the man killed in a New Year’s Eve attack on Floral Avenue. According to Johnson City police  repot, the depatedment  responded at about 6:30 p.m., Dec. 31 to a suspicious incident call when they  Scott critically injured in a Floral Avenue residence.

Groover was rushed to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead according to the police report. An autopsy Sunday at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton determined Groover died from cardiac arrest caused by blood loss, police said.

Several hours after the incident, police arrested Kyle Babola, 33, of Johnson City, charging him with second-degree murder. Babola was arraigned in the county’s centralized system on New Year’s Day, pleaded not guilty and was sent to the Broome County Jail. He remains in custody without bail.
