Brian Bumstead Death, Cause Of Death – Brian Bumstead has passed away unexpectedly on December 30th in his 72nd year., Bumstead was a member of Chatsworth town council during the amalgamation years. His obituary from Fawcett Funeral Home says he had a passion for agriculture.
Bumstead and his wife of 46 years Pearl Bumstead were co-chairs of the International Plowing Match in 2004 in Meaford. Bumstead was also a Director at Participation Lodge and was also a founding member of the Holland Centre/ Williamsford Lions Club.
Meaford Councillor Ross Kentner says in a social media post, “Residents of the Municipality of Meaford will never forget the incredible job they did as co-chairs of the 2004 International Plowing March in Meaford.” Kentner says Brian and Pearl raised Simmental Cattle and Bumstead held many positions with the Grey Bruce Simmental Club.
Bumstead retired from his career with Bell Canada in 1997 and later worked at Ice river Springs. He and Pearl had recently moved from their long-time home on a farm in Holland-Centre to Owen Sound to enjoy retirement.
