Person attacked by suspects during apparent jewelry store robbery at Westfield Topanga mall

One person was attacked on Friday night after a group of suspects attempted to rob a jewellery store in the Westfield Topanga shopping centre.

LAPD is closing off a portion of the Topanga mall after a robbery was reported at a jewelry store on the lower level. One store employee was pepper sprayed and mall patrons report hearing a loud bang. LAPD is calling this a crime scene. More to come.

Police cars and ambulances were seen outside the Forever 21 store at the popular Canoga Park mall at 6600 Topanga Canyon Blvd.

Police said multiple suspects entered the Ice Brothers jewelry store inside the mall and attacked a person with pepper spray.

It is unclear if the suspects stole any merchandise from the store. Police said no shots were fired during the incident.

The victim’s condition is unknown.
